Worldwide Semiconductor
Sales Will Grow By 9.8 Percent In 2006

San Jose, CA -- The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) released an updated
forecast projecting worldwide sales of semiconductors will grow by 9.8 percent
to $249.6 billion in 2006. The forecast was revised upward from the November
forecast projecting an increase of 7.9 percent to $245 billion. The SIA
attributed the upward revision to stronger than expected growth in key end
markets for semiconductors, most notably cell phones.

Global Semiconductor
Sales to Reach US$255.7 B in 2006
iSuppli
has issued a forecast that global semiconductor sales will rise to US$255.7
billion in 2006, up 7.8% from US$237.2 billion in 2005. The previous forecast by
iSuppli in June predicted global semiconductor sales would grow by 7.9% in 2006.
